Just ban them and move on. Nobody cares. They’ll just make new usernames and rejoin or won’t.
I think many people on this subreddit need to take a look at Rule 5. It’s fine to have spirited debates, but I see a lot of unnecessary personal insults thrown from all sorts of users. Whoever this applies to, you should probably find a way to have debates about best practices in our field without resorting to personal insults. It’s discouraging to new people entering the field, reflects badly on our community, and makes business owners looking for advice not want to engage with resources that could be helpful to them as they navigate an industry with a considerable number of scammers.
Been a persistent problem on this subreddit for a long time, and a lot of people – ‘popular’ users included – are guilty of it. SEO is complicated, but it is not hard to phrase criticisms and comments respectfully. Would love to see this rule enforced more across the board.
