So, you’re lacking “Topical Authority” for whatever you;re blogging about, and/or your blog root is lacking authority.
You can solve this by linking directly to your posts.
Sitemaps: if you’re low authority – Google will ignore your sitemap – for days/weeks and even months at a time. Even if you remove and re-submit or submit under a new URL
If you have high authority – esp for news/discover, you’ll get a high priority bot posted to your sitemap or blog root pages for example.
How do you know if you have authority? Do you get clicks daily/weekly to your blog root? No? You have no authority here.

You can also link to your new posts from posts that are related and have traffic
Im not sure why you would be againts GSC in any world
