The amount of traffic that converts into sales is the conversion rate. Because you said it’s the traffic that fell off, not the conversion rate or something else which severed the ability to earn income, then yes, you can still earn… provided there’s traffic to convert.
You say it “lost all its traffic”. That sounds fairly major. Over night? Over a long time? It’s impossible to say if it can be resurrected without having more details.
It’s odd that they’d shut it down before even having you check what’s going on, and if it’s reversible. In any case, you need to see what’s happening in Google Search Console. That’s the first step. See how rapid the decline was, when it happened, if there are any manual penalties, if the timing means anything to you, and so on.

pet niche got absolutely destroyed by the HCU not EEAT tbh, google basically nuked thin affiliate sites in that space around late 2023. if your client wants to revive it the first thing i’d check is whether the content is actually written by someone who owns pets or just regurgitated amazon review summaries, that’s usually the difference between sites that survived and sites that didn’t
