the portfolio thing is i think your biggest asset here. agencies love seeing actual results, so make sure you’re highlighting specific wins, like traffic increases, ranking improvements, that kinda thing
when i was building stuff in the seo space, i realized agencies care way less about certifications and way more about “can you actually deliver results.” so if your portfolio shows that, you’re golden. apply directly to agencies’ career pages, but also reach out to people on linkedin who work there, a warm intro gets you way further than a cold application. what kind of results are you most proud of in your portfolio?
the efficient way to join an agency is by searching them on LinkedIn or a person’s bio and apply through it. But top tip is show them you have experience in dealing with clients also cuz in agency, there is probably client base work.

Be able to speak to on page, off page, technical and the content portion. Most good agencies should have SEO tiers for you to follow when you are working on clients.
