Because this update tightened Topical Authority calculations like the Dec 2024 update.
Crawled, not indexed is not a technical impediment – you cannot fix it with an XML feed/sitemap, internal linking or fixing noindex – you have an authority validation issue.
I saw that today too.
I have a very nice page on “backlink exchange”. My rankings started around 100th, then dropped to 70th for a few weeks, and crept down. I got a few more links and saw it improved to 28th before Christmas. I was pretty stoked.
Today I saw Impression flatlined a week ago.
So in a nutshell, I have seen what you saw too.
I will, of course, first look into whether I somehow lost a backlink or 3.
