It’s authority based – that’s usually how G divides and triages the web . 1.5 months probably average – Google probably doesn’t expect you to ever change it.
Or maybe it’s a group thing – like end of evry 2nd month

What cms is your site on? Most likely you haven’t set the favicon correctly unless your site is brand new, but a brand new site will have the favicon appear within the first month
