For a couple of my sites I have the latest 6 posts showing on the home page – that seems to help a lot. They get an initial boost from the homepage link then earn their placement as traffic to them grows.
It’s an excellent way to gain an AIO mention as well – if the article is topical and fresh. I’ve found articles I’ve written being sourced in AIO within a couple days.
