You need authority/3rd parry/exteranl validation to get indexed.

Kind of square one. Content needs to be crawled to be indexed, and needs to be indexed to be ranked. Is GSC outlining why the page(s) are not indexed?
If it’s not indexed, it won’t show up in search at all. So yes, getting the page indexed is step 1.

Crawling is very important for SEO if Google can’t crawl or index your page, it won’t appear in search results at all.
So yes, if a page isn’t getting indexed, it can’t rank. Fix crawl issues, improve internal linking, and ensure your sitemap is submitted in GSC.
