No
These are not authoritative.
You’re better off building relationships
Not really, but when you submit your startup to 100 directories, there’s a high chance that 10 of them may bring you some authority.

if the site is new and has few backlinks it will help start building some. not great links but you need to start somewhere.
There are still some decent ones out there. I run one myself and include websites that I find worthy too it periodically.
Everyone in the thread one shotting their responses-
MOST directories are not great because they’re easily spammed.
HOWEVER, over the last several years, I’ve seen more and more sites evolving to be competitive directories, requiring verified profiles and sometimes UGC or other hurdles to get listed. Inside of that circle of directories, there are a select few in most verticals that are worth getting into.
The easily spammed ones probably aren’t worth anything. The ones that require some level of verification likely are worth a little. Ones that require peer review or other meaningful and difficult criteria, can be worth a lot.

A bunch of spammy directory listings is a gd way of getting a penalty imo
The ones that will charge you for backlink and are relevant to your saas might help, but submitting to all directories won’t help you go anywhere.
Imao, if I started do SEO for SaaS – yes, I would use directories.
They’re easy to get mentioned there. They’re cheap to buy (if you can’t do this by yourself)
Just for 2 reasons. When your SaaS is big enough – there is no need. Better try building authority mentions, adding into niche articles with SEO traffic (like TOP-10 SaaS in niche X).
