Write for the User
Engineer for Search Engine ranking keyword from the LLM prompt
You cannot “write for search engines” – they are content agnostic
You still write for people, but you structure for machines. Search engines and LLMs both pull meaning from the same signals: clear language, headings that match intent, schema, and internal links that show topic depth.
When your content answers a real question and the markup makes it easy to parse, humans stay longer and algorithms understand it faster. If you make it useful and structured, everything else, search, AI, and users, lines up naturally.
Humans + search engines. LLMs just scrape SERPs and consensus-seek from them.
can’t do one and neglect the other. seems often the human element gets ignored and other writers ignore seo. we are ecom so it is a bit more acceptable to write for seo only but if the customer and focus on ranking the pages but if the customer is in the learning phase of shopping them ignoring the human element could lose the customer.
as with most things in life, there is no “one or the other” answer.
since LLMs do not index websites like the search engines do, they can only pull the informaiton from the search engines. so doing traditional SEO is usually what gets a site more LLM visibility.

Write for humans first, LLMs are great for surfacing content, but they prioritize clarity, relevance, and readability. When you get that right, both search engines and AI will follow.

Write for humans, optimize for search engines, and let LLMs figure it out.
Write for humans 👥 Format for machines 🤖
LLMs pull from content that’s clear, structured, and trustworthy same stuff Google’s been asking for all along.
