1) Being able to do SEO =/= being able to sell
2) Client retention is super important
3) You need to understand networking – referral = the best form of selling via recommendation
4) Capital – you need money to advertise and buy tools
Owning an agency isn’t a free way to get clients and avoid paying taxes. A lot of people dont want to spend $500 pm on SEO reporting tools/keyword research, or $1000 pm on aggregator sites to show your portfolio, or $5k on outreach/lead gen/PR/referrals
