If you think the new content will be better for your readers then sure, redirect and pub a new story. But there’s no guarantee that’s going to stick even if you put up a new page, especially on a very competitive term like that. Google has been prioritizing a variety of content to keep these SERPs fresh so I doubt anything other than the 1-2 top results are going to stay there.
No. The new page is going to have completely different content from the old one and unless you can confirm people that go to the old page bounce because it’s 5 years old, I wouldn’t redirect it.
Always think about user experience and the signals like TOP, engagement rate, and bounce rate have in Google’s rankings.
I’d make a new, updated page with correct title, meta description, slug, and content.
Google’s algorithm “knows” content about electronics gets old super fast. I recommend you start creating the content with the year in all items above (best gaming pc monitors in 2025) and do this dk all major products you’re looking to try and get affiliate revenue from.
you keep the old page as it is, you create a new page with updated content and mention the year in title that is relavant for this article. Link to this new article from your old article
