Şu anda saf html/css ile oluşturulmuş 22 yıllık bir alan adı/web sitesi satın almayı düşünüyorum.
Site en son yaklaşık 8 yıl önce güncellendi ve aşağıdakiler de dahil olmak üzere çeşitli sorunlardan dolayı trafik çok az:
- SSL yok
- birçok kırık sayfa/bağlantı
- masaüstünde çok kötü tasarım
- mobilde yanıt vermiyor
Öte yandan pek çok artısını da görüyorum:
- tonlarca makale/kılavuz var, 100’den fazla
- 100 indekslenmiş sayfa (300 üzerinden)
- Bazı wiki bağlantıları ve eğitim sitelerinin ona bağlantı verdiği iyi bir geri bağlantı profili
- 10 yıl önce 2.500’den fazla anahtar kelime için sıralamada kullanılıyordu
Şimdilik çoğu sorunu çözdükten sonra onu sadece html’de tutmayı düşünüyorum ve eğer işler düzelmeye başlarsa uygun bir wordpress sitesi oluşturacağım

Do you have to change the URLs? It’s almost always better to leave them the same.
Sounds like a fun project! I love buying these situations. They are rare bc sellers still want an arm and leg for them- are heavily invested and can’t let go.
Get that sucker on https. That’s the most impactful and easiest move right now.
I love the duality of giving the diagnosis of the lack of organic traffic and the curiosity of how to improve the site.
It really depends what you’re buying it for. If it has the backlinks, you can estimate the value of the domain as well as the future potential profit, it’s really hard to say like that. But ranking for 2500kw 10yrs ago is not great. You better check if there is some penalty or dodgy stuff was performed on that.
Only if it has steady organic (non brand) traffic and a good stream of recurring customers.
Otherwise you’ll be better off building your own audience/brand from scratch with paid traffic.
Why are you buying it?
It probably closed for a reason (I’m assuming its closed as you didn’t specifically say but did say not updated for 8 years and has a very broken website) so if you’re thinking you’ll just relaunch as an eCom site I’m not sure that’s a great idea.
If planning to turn into a content site then maybe its doable but with the state of content sites in Google these days and the fact they reduced clicks to most websites by 70-90% due to their AI Overviews I wouldn’t even bank on that.
Plus you just never know how these things will work out. I bought a ton of aged domains in the past, many that looked great on paper based on their metrics and were still indexed, and there was about a 50% success rate and it was so random which ones worked and which didn’t.
Buy it
Rebuild everything the same pages etc. Let it sit.
Build the WordPress website a side recreate modernise it in WordPress etc. Do the necessary technical SEO work and you’re good to go.
