Hey yoo,

Check it in Bing Webmaster tools – you can spy on all links from all sites
Pages are indexed based on how much traffic they get – if they’re not being crawled, they’re not getting traffic
>Why would Ahrefs, generally a fast crawler, miss a link from such a high-authority domain? •
1. It could be blocking Ahrefs in robots.txt?
2. Ahrefs and all other tools have a limited view of keywords – so they might not know this page exists or might not have refreshed it in a week
3. You can ask the Ahrefs team – they’re very responsive here and on X – namely via u/patrickstox for example
Thanks for the detailed answers, u/patrickstox and u/WebLinkr! This is very helpful.
I have some key follow-up details that might clarify the situation:
1. Link Type: The backlink was a niche edit (insertion) into an article that was published roughly 3 weeks ago, not a brand new article. Also, the article is related to my website.
2. Page Health: The specific article has a Page Rating (PR) of 4.5 (according to another tool), indicating it’s an active, high-quality page.
3. Google Indexing Confirmed: I confirmed the article is indexed by Google using the site:articleurl search operator. If Google is finding and crawling the article, does this mean my site will still receive the link equity/authority, even if Ahrefs is slow to catch up?
4. Not Isolated: This isn’t an isolated case. I have 4–5 other backlinks from strong DR news sites that Ahrefs is also failing to report.
Given that Google finds the article and it’s a confirmed dofollow link on a live, indexed page, should I only be concerned about Ahrefs’ reporting accuracy, or is there still a risk that Google is somehow ignoring the link?
Appreciate the continued advice!
Probably because it’s on a complete joke of a page that is super deep in the site.
