  1. [ArchiveBox](https://github.com/pirate/ArchiveBox) does this and more, and it’s self-hosted. I highly recommend it

  2. so The Way Back does not capture all public facing website changes everywhere, always… It seems. Which, while understandable, was also surprising.. Had been raised on this notion that they snapshotted everything.

  3. Just wanted to say that the Wayback Machine is a joke. Maybe works once, then does not save things. Just currently, I’m trying to save – it doesn’t want to – it gives me this screen instead of saving, and even if I check all the marks, it just loops perpetually. What a joke.

    Is this censorship or something?

I don’t even want to mention that if my browser is overloaded, it legit refuses to save. How is my browser even relevant? Archive.is has never had such issues…

The interface here even looks like an error screen. Why would you centre the text? Or is this for the phones? Looks off.

P.S. An update! I’ve unchecked all the marks, and it has succeeded in saving (because logic!)! But now I have to click one more time to go to the snapshot. Yay! More clicks for the click god Athene! Destroying the interface with every update, like any other website since 2010! Loving it.

P.P.S. Also, as far as I understand, I should now stay on the saving page until it saves? Can I not leave it anymore, right? Before, I could immediately leave it, as saving was initialized, it was to complete no matter whether I stay… I guess, another great improvement? Yay!

Or maybe I’m mistaken and it actually works like before? Dunno. I just checked the history, and 2019-10-18 is missing whether I wait or not! But it’s actually saved! Just not in the history log! Yay!

  4. Anyone know how I can find my old geocities website? I tried searching a million times but I can’t find it. I sort of remember my old username/alias. Any tips? Thanks. My website was a comic book and action figure review website with a star background with some awesome 90s gifs. my username was fuzzyelf (like nightcrawler), thanks

  5. I’ve also been having issues with this tool. It was working very well for me not too long ago, and when it was in beta. Maybe now that it’s been fully released it’s dealing with a heavier load?

  6. They’ve started rate limiting lately, it’s very limiting. Blocking cookies fixes it mostly.

  7. You can apparently save outlinks too! Can you initiate a 2 level crawl of the page instead of a single snapshot now?
