Traumatizing dreams

So just a little backstory into the situation my girlfriend and I had a small disagreement and thought it would be best to have some space but during the time that we barely talked she was extremely sad and regretful. One night she dreamt that someone sexually assaulted her and she couldnt tell who it was and just last week she dreamt that she got raped by someone and it was extremely realistic and obviously traumatizing for her. She doesnt want to talk about it and wants to forget about it and i understand but i need some advice on this situation. Was the time apart the cause of this or was this purely random and coincidental to happen while we were on a break. I need to know if anyone else has experienced something similar to this. (P.S. She has not been sexually assaulted or anything related to that matter in the past which is why i dont understand the dreams) because i want to understand what happened

  1. Is she on any meds? Could she be pregnant? A lot of vivid dreams occured for me when I was pregnant.

  2. I’ve been having the most vivid nightmares of my life recently. Like, waking up covered in sweat and very frightened.

I suspect it’s a side effect of a new medication as well as the fact that the holidays bring up a lot of past trauma for me.

The nightmares aren’t always about things that have actually happened to me. They are just frightening in general.

That’s just my 2 cents. You really need to speak to her about it.
