Set up nearly complete. 40TB plex server. Still need to drop in my parity drive. Tried to keep this set up as clean as possible.

  1. 850 Watts. Nice. My gaming rig runs with 450 watts. Is this necessary for PLEX servers? I mean transcoding can’t be that much heavy load, right?

  2. I have double the storage, but 1% of your build quality…beautiful dude, keep it up

  3. I see Molex to SATA connectors, hope you have a backup plan in place.

  4. Lol I was expecting to see a stack of hard drives, crazy how much a single drive can hold!

  5. From the title I imagined a bank of drives and was surprised to see four. My, how far we’ve come.

  6. So is this an old case and parts? The rgb ram and class case feel like a hella flex lol mine are just in the drive cage of my c70, I can’t let that baby go!

  7. Please don’t shoot the messenger on this one but if you’ve spent much time on this reddit you would know that OP post should be a r/Plex post or r/homelab and *not* a r/Datahoarder post. r/Datahoarder is for what *interesting* things you are doing / project with your digital storage and not for “look at my pretty Plex setup / hard drives”. A large Plex setup is something that many people on r/Datahoarder already have and would go to r/Plex for more info on not here. Using r/Datahoarder is for telling us what unique / interesting things you are doing with digital storage that others might not heard of etc. Otherwise a clear plastic/glass enclosed case with hard drives inside it falls under the “look at my hard drives” and that should be left to other Reddits and not r/datahoarder

  8. What OS? I run mine on win10 PC right now and that’s all it’s used for even tho I build it for my son to game on(start out in PC gaming) but he never uses it so it became my plex PC.

Right now I’m on 12TB and about to add more soon 🙂

  9. Looks fantastic, but dust is going to be a pain in the ass for you.

  10. What’s the specs? Planning on a GPU for HW transcoding or just sticking with GPU?

  11. Very nice but you know your gonna have to post more pics than just one right? 😀

  12. That’s very striking, but how many drives can you get in there?
