Just bought an old ibm server. How do I turn it on?

LOL, please, bare with me, I’m a noobie in server things. So the thing is I just bought an old IBM QRadar XX05 G2 server that was supposed to come with windows 10 installed, but I’m not even sure how to turn it on since it has no power button (or any button at all). It seems to auto turn on once I plug any of the 2 fonts, but it’s VGA port shows nothing on my screen, so it seems I need to do something else for it to boot? It seems like the system is too old for me to find any user manual or any official document that could help me. May anyone help me in this silly quest, please?this is the machine: [https://imgur.com/JgXiCSL](https://imgur.com/JgXiCSL)

  1. This is a QRadar appliance. It may not have any power button because looks to be software controlled via the QRadar applications and the management modules at the back. However your photo doesn’t show enough detail so maybe there is a button.

If you want to use it for something else you will have to research how to factory reset the integrated management modules (IMM), allowing you to connect to them using the default IP and credentials, then you would have the ability to turn it off and on.

As for installation of a different OS, well either there is a way to do that in the IMM once you connect to it (unlikely as this is an appliance) or you will have to reset the IMM then open the machine, locate and pull the OS drive. That might get something out of the VGA, perhaps a bios of sorts. Either way, your point of entry is via the IMM.

Hopefully the IMM will have a web interface, but it is possible it will require some IBM control software. Good luck navigating the IBM site!

Just re-read your post, seems it supposedly has win 10 installed?

Edit: a quick search finds this:

At the bottom there is a link to the hardware overview of what this thing might actually be (an IBM x3630) https://lenovopress.com/tips0807

  2. Did you try turning it off and on again?

    Oh wait…

  3. Is this your manual?
