  1. This looks like two wooden rakes ziptied together, are those plate holders or something?

  2. why do you have crossdressing tabs open on your browser?

  3. Obligatory “you should use velcro and not zip ties” comment. 🙂

    ( /s of course)

  4. a good drying rack for when you need scrub your hard drives, just don’t use too much soap.

  5. Make a full pc case out of bamboo scaffold

    Infinite airflow

  6. IMO, no that’s awful. The biggest killers of drives is heat, vibration, ESD and poor grounding.

This thing does nothing for any of them.

Looks like a fun arts and crafts thing. But RIP your drives.

  7. How’s the vibration? I would try putting a small strip of that [non-slip liner](https://media.rs-online.com/t_large/F8517613-01.jpg) stuff on the wooden pegs.

  8. Get rubber feet for the bottom, they sell adhessive ones. Maybe some fancy zipties with the screwholes to eecure the drives from sliding out too. Metalic spray paint, and you got something Apple would be envious of.

  9. I’ve been trying to find plans for something similar to make from makerbean extruded aluminum.

  10. how do i use a 2.5inch hdd adapter on a 3.5inch hdd

  11. No, but I love it anyway 🙂

**One of us; one of us; one of us…**

  12. Foam double sided tape: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005SRA7X0/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_Xj23Fb1JADYD6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=

Put some under the drive and it’ll keep it in place nicely. Rubber bands aren’t reliable and fail over time.

  13. Super ghetto but I still feel proud of you somehow.

  14. Awesome nAS setup bro, justa dd raspberry pi and you’re good

    P.s Those browser tabs though.

  15. Can I just ask how you live with such a reflective desk? I hated my old frosted glass one

  16. Cool this is not unlike the frame I just printed to change my 3×5.25 bays into 5×3.5 HDD bays.

It even has mounts for a 120mm fan

  17. I seriously wanna ask if this is viable? My casing is almost max out its HDD bay but I dont wanna go through the trouble of buying another casing.

  18. You could try some thick rubber bands on those dowels to support the actual weight of the drives in compression.

  19. More bays than I have. Might want to get rid of that Google Nest thing though.

  20. that looks scary, yet beautiful.

unrelated, but those are some pretty ortholinear function key buttons you got there on your keyboard 🙂

i wish some easy switch swappable 75% keyboard with ortholinear function keys exists, because why would anyone want the function keys to be further away and harder to reach? doesn’t make any sense.
