I’m back with the final version of my lecture library. 900 gigs/3000 videos/100 days of meticulously organized Psychology, Philosophy, and Neuroscience lectures.

Hi. About 3 months ago, I posted my lecture library on a whim here. I was quite surprised at how well-received it was. I believe it hit number 1 for the week or something like that.

I had a bit of regret that I hadn’t spent more time getting it right. There were typos, loose files, classes I hadn’t added yet etc etc. One still-funny-to-me example that springs to mind; The Noam Chomsky folder was titled Noam Chomsly. CHOMSLY!

Well, I can’t say it’s perfect now, but I will say it’s done. On my trusty WD 2tb external, it shows up as a flat 999 gigs. Some of that gets lost in uploading, and some of it get lost in downloading, so I believe the final torrent is 916 gigs.

Everyone here has been an absolute delight, helpful, patient and informative. Deep thanks to you all. There wouldn’t even be a torrent without the DH community.

What’s new in the final version? Roughly 50% more data, 1k more videos, and 30+ more days of content. I’ve expanded the philosophy folder, it’s now philosophy, society, and BLM. Similarly, the neuroscience folder is now neuroscience, biology, and general science. The psychology folder, despite only having a single word title, wallops the other two folders in stature.

I know data curation types aren’t so keen on complex folder hierarchies, but I prefer it to a tagging system. Hope that’s not too big an issue for people. Part of it is that it works best on an androidTV player, which is how I enjoy it. Part of it is that I just like having folder systems big enough to get lost in. It makes it feel almost like I’m walking the corridors of a real library.

I’ve made a sub for posting updates, which is at r/thelibrary. In theory I shouldn’t need to be posting too many updates after this one, but if anybody has corrections or suggestions or anything, that’s a good place to reach me at (other than this thread, ofc). Everything is currently still up on google drive for now, which can be found at the library subreddit.

I’ll post the torrent link in the comments. Credit for the torrent goes to u/acl1704
Thanks, you handsome bunch of conscientious cuties.

  1. Great job! I do wish the feynman lectures were a little higher quality, as the ones currently available for streaming are high quality, 1080p film rips. Nevertheless, your organization is just amazing!

  2. Very interested. Particularly in how you organized and structured the documentation?

  3. What software do I use to get access? Boomer here :/

  4. Guaranteed it’s nothing but Jordan Peterson and Sam Harris.

  5. i mihgt pull this for the interest of it, but id really love a bulk library of it clases. ccna, coding etc. id hoard that forever lol

  6. thanks – sounds interesting and curious to see whats in it. Ive got about 10TB of lectures from tgc and coursera. Planning a release of the rare content soon.

  7. Very nice compendium but some topics as blm are out of context in the whole general frame. Good job, tho.

  8. Pardon my ignorance, but what is source of all these lectures?

  9. Nice release /u/Nuetrinostar but if you’re going to _ask_ for donations please don’t do it like that, docx is a terrible format and many wont appreciate having that file in there at all.

Anywho, I’ll ensure this is well seeded for the foreseeable future by spreading it around further and sticking it on a few seedboxes.

  10. Thank you for your work, members of this subreddit perform important tasks and I appreciate it.

  11. Oh, the irony of misspelling a linguist’s name!

  12. I need a point to the current good torrent downloader… I’ve been lurking around in the Usenet lately …

I cannot tell you how much I loved poking around the Beta version (PhD in Psychology from a more philosophical school… Love this stuff!!!)

  13. Wait neuroscience lectures!! This is amazing! Thank you so much :’)

  14. I can’t believe someone actually remembered and tagged me for reminder. Stay blessed OP

  15. Totally forgot about this, if I’m being honest. I’ve started the download, never downloaded 1TB all at once before.

  16. u/Nuetrinostar Thanks for the updates. Picking through your v1 release was very rewarding; I’m looking forward to v2 now.

  17. Hey thanks a lot, you’ve done a great job at this.

Your sub appears to actually be /r/thelibrary
