I have a rpi 4B connected to a 2tb wd elements that functions as a NAS, media server, backup server, and some other things. I also have a gaming PC in a different room that has a 2tb wd black. What I do for backups is essentially running an rsync ssh tunnel from the server’s drive to my gaming PC drive to have a 1-to-1 copy between them. I wanna add possibly a 4tb drive to the server, I have stuff like anime, games, Roms, censored/deleted stuff, etc. I wouldn’t call myself a hoarder and I do not want to spend a lot of money either.
My gaming PC has a bunch of SATA and I/O, but my pi only has 2 usb3 ports. Should I add a new drive to my PC and another drive of the same capacity to my server?
Or should I just add say a 4tb drive to the server, and just use the 2tb drive as a backup drive? I’m don’t know much about this sort of thing.
