The world would absolutely be a better place, on multiple levels. Even the most hardcore feminist cites porn as a negative affect on women, in just how “mens expectations of sex are influenced by the porn they watch”. Pretty much every single serial killer/rapist progresses through different types of porm before they end up getting the need to commit their crimes. Sex trafficking of women and children is fueled through the creation of forced prostitution and porn. Especially financially enslavement in other countries, where passports are held until a “debt” is paid through caming or actual prostitution – there are group homes specifically made with this design. Then on the legal side there is women giving up their youth trading becoming educated, getting profession, retaining their dignity for quick easy money, before they become washed up and undesirable by a younger generation. 99.9% will not have a career in porn, but a sad short boom until they hit their mid to late 20s, leaving them with no skills or education or job experience. You also have to mental toll and humiliation that comes with selling yourself, family, friends, coworks finding out. You have the almost impossibility of finding a relationship that will not be affected by your sexual proclivities. Then there is the aspect of drug addiction, which is epidemic for those who are prostituing themselves, you have the abuse, rape and even murder from customers and pimps. For men, you have porn addiction, wasting your money on women that wont love you; pretty much financial manipulation. There is the toll on society, men no longer have the need to seek out potential mates, dating is the most accessible it has ever been, but with the introduction of porn, marriage, dating is significantly down.
People die all the time as a result of the sex industry, peoples lives are ruined all the time by the sex industry. If you think the world is better off with the sex industry you are either naive or too ideologically possessed to admit it.
Take out the anthrax if it makes you feel better, the analogy was more to the point on being a profession/real work by your same standards, not the fact that the drug would be killing people. But I am sure you knew that, you just preferred to strawman the point.
