Hey Vsauce! Michael here
And what you just incinuated in your comment was quite the funny joke, wasn’t it? But what if you considered the following: 15 armed federal agents are currently approaching your koordinates and if you do not delete your comment, well, they may just storm your house and take you into custody. But first, what are your koordinates? Well, to answer that, we first need to understand….(pulls magnet out)…..magnetism! (Camera cuts to top-down table view with some paper) Now, we all now how magnets work, in practice, and many of you may have played with magnets as a child. It’s quite fun to take two magnets and let them (let’s two magnets smash together) collide. But as you just saw, the magnets knew where the other one was, even tough they were quite far apart from each other. And magnets obviously don’t have eyes, so how do they know where to go? The answer is: fields! And not the kind to grow crops on, no; these fields: (draws magnetic field) this is a magnetic field, and every magnet has one. Now, i’ve only drawn a bit lf it here, but in reality, these fields stretch out….infinetly! So actually, the magnets can not only know where the other one is, but also any other magnet or metallic object in the universe. But, the force, with which magnets attract each other gets weaker over distance. In fact, it deteriorates rather quickly, which is why i can even place these two magnets on the same sheet of paper, without having them attract each other.
(I’d love to continue this vsauce script, but i’m tired as shit and i have to wake up in 6h, so that’s all you’re gonna get for now)
