I’m not OP and am not mad at folks who have died and continue playing that char.
I am amused by these folks calling themselves “hard core”.
Speaking to them directly: Sorry to be the one to inform you son, but you died. It matters not whether you were stupid in starting an attack, got griefed (I was so unhappy when my 39 priest was trained in Dustwallow!), or died to the Lag Monster / Disconnect Beast.
You died. You are not hard. Go back to character select and re-roll. If you’re a generally nice player then sell all your gear except your bags and pay a visit to the newbie fields. Then delete your deader and re-roll, ideally on a different server where you have no support in place.
That’s “hardcore”. One toon, no deaths. Not some silliness about “Oh, that death didn’t count because….” It’s similar to pregnancy: Either you are or you are not. There is no “little bit hardcore” just as there is no “little bit pregnant”.
That being said, those players are very welcome to call themselves “hardcore” just as I am free to giggle at their silliness in redefining ‘dead’. :o)
Have a great week!
