  1. i really want to install flashpoint, but im scared it will have viruses. Does anyone know if they are really safe?

(i know their faq says they are virus-free, but like, that’s what they would say if they were carrying viruses too)

  2. Does anyone know if it has cactus mccoy or the papa louie games? That would be dope

  3. I sent to them all my flash games, about 500-1000 i hope they merged or check them.

  4. Description of the video:

    >Ten thousand web games preserved, and counting.

    You’re joking. That’s nothing.

    Website:

    > 59,000 games

Ok that’s better, but I still have my doubts on the “flash game and animation ever made” part.

  5. Man it really sucks it’s being discontinued….. I Still kinda play some games…

  6. I remember playing a flash game on arcadepod eons ago, you basically controlled a round robot and if you bumped into another robot a puzzle mini game had to be solved and you could then take over that robot or upgrade your robot. the bigger the strength difference between your robot and the other one the harder the puzzles. I was never able to find that game again.

  7. The one game I ever truly got into in Flash was AdventureQuest, which of course is highly unlikely to show up in Flashpoint due to it having a client/server design. To this day I still think about building a server emulator for that game… anyone wanna work on this with me? lol

  8. Does anyone know if the Candystand games or Lenny Loosejocks are on there?

  9. Finally, someone posts this! I found out about it because I speedrun lots of games, a few being Nitrome. Considering their webpage is like genuinely laggy and almost unplayable depending on the game, this was a godsend. And it’s just a great project to support anyways!

  10. I can replay the classic flash game Pimps Quest

  11. As great as this project is, I hate that they always advertise it as “nearly every flash..”, it absolutely is still missing TONs of flash content.

It has a lot, but not “nearly all”.

  12. My heart sank as I misread the title and thought Flashpoint had been killed… Holy smokes

Great project. Fire it up almost daily to play one thing or another.

  13. Oh how I miss Newgrounds. I spent lot of money on dial-up Internet to download the .swf files from them to play. Good old time.

  14. GenZ here am really glad this is getting preserved

  15. can’t wait for lost media subreddits to do their thing

  16. Phrasing made me think the archive project got killed for a second there.

  17. Who else misread the thread’s title and thought that Flashpoint had been killed?

  18. They could’ve made it cross platform but decided to go windows only. That’s sad. (I have an app written with the same technologies including flash support and it’s linux + mac too)

  19. A great initiative by a group of very kind people. Here’s their [discord](https://discord.gg/S9uJ794) if you want to take a look/help.

  20. Is there a text dump or anything of the contents?

  21. New comment:

How fast are they at adding games? I could already find a few they don’t have.

Do they do everything manually or web crawl at any time?

  22. I went on a huge Flashpoint binge earlier this year, played through a bunch of old flash games and had a blast. My only gripe is that Junkbot Undercover won’t save my progress, buuuuut I decided to let it slide 🙂

  23. I’m hopeful they’ve included all the classics I played, I can’t even remember some of them enough to describe them, and I learned of downloading them too late.

This will be the biggest nostalgia ever.

    EDIT: Holy shit over 400GB.

  24. It’s great to see this, but I was always under the impression that some source files, namely images/videos were kept on the website’s servers. If that’s the case, when they download the flash game are the games still just hotlinking to the server, or are they also downloading any associated media required?

I remember playing flash games back in early highschool, nice to see that it’s all going to be preserved.

  25. You can still use flash in your browser, bit you have to enable it manually right?
