I’ve been told this sub may be of help regarding my questions about media storage. OK, not gonna beat around the bush, the majority of data I have are high res high bitrate VR videos of a certain ahem nature. They’re all currently sit in an external 2GB HDD atm but I have a feeling I will need more space in the future as I download and discover more.
Been window shopping on Amazon and I think the 8TB WD Elements Desktop seem like the best deal and size for me. My current dlna set up is plugging the said HDD into my laptop which has an ethernet cable connected to my router. I then locally stream it onto my Quest 2 VR headset. Would the WD Element suitable for this purpose? Also is it safe for it to be constantly on all the time like a typical USB powered HDD despite it running on the mains?
